Shavian English

Note: the original of this tribute is written in the Shavian alphabet, displayed word-by-word against its English reading. The English text is preserved below; the Shavian original is retained in the source data.

This page is a tribute to Shavian English — a beautiful invention that fascinates me.

For a long time, I wanted to make something like it — but fully phonetic, not just phonemic. That is a hard thing to do. Building a branch of Shavian that writes every sound is a difficult project.

I love the idea, even though I know it will not catch on soon. I would also love to make a post-post-modern zine about contemporary pop culture and the two-thousands.
